books censored burning

Around the country, there is renewed energy to censor books, especially if they deal with gender identity, sexuality, race and racism, or troubling aspects of American history.  Libraries are under threat both from forces that want to restrict freedom and from cost-cutting government and educational officials. Come on Sunday to learn how we can find hope and courage in our UU heritage—it includes UU founders of many public libraries, path-breaking authors, caring teachers, courageous librarians, and passionate readers.

(If you have personal experiences in these areas, let Rev. Roger know by March 30.)

*Today is the day to light a candle before church and write your joy, sorrow, or prayer on a card.

*We will also have a welcome ritual for those who have become UUSS members in recent months.

*Pancake Breakfast after church hosted by kids and youth of the Freedom Club to raise funds and awareness to end modern slavery.
