This Month at UUSS is a monthly newsletter with announcements, information about upcoming sermons, and a pastoral message. It’s all you need to know for the month. Please send content to be included to monthlymessage@uuss.org by noon on Wednesday before the first of the month.

Leadership Update from the Board of Trustees and other leadership groups is emailed in the second week of the month and also available at uuss.org/board.

Justice Works summarizes the justice activities of the congregation with announcements of upcoming activities and events. It’s emailed the first week of the month.

Weekly

This Weekend at UUSS is emailed on Friday and includes what’s in store for the weekend.

The Blue Sheet is a two-sided page of short articles and our 8-day calendar. It’s inserted in Sunday’s order of service and is also at uuss.org/bluesheets. Submit articles about UUSS-related events to bluesheet@uuss.org. (max 35 words) by noon on Wednesday.

RE Outreach is compiled and emailed every Thursday by our Religious Education Coordinator. It’s for RE volunteers and families and all who wish to be informed about our ministries to children and youth: re@uuss.org

UUSS Between Sundays is a closed Facebook group for UUSS members but you may submit a request to join through Facebook.

How We Govern

Congregational Meetings (after the Sunday service ends, 30-90 minutes long)

1. Usually the 3rd Sunday in May—members vote on the proposed budget, and elect members to the Board of Trustees, Program Council, Nominating Committee, et al.
2. The 3rd or 4th Sunday in October—members hear updates from the President, Treasurer, ministers, any current task forces; members vote to choose Community Partner organizations for the monthly Shared Offering (nominations in September).
3. Special meetings may be called by the Board or by members, especially to vote on the calling of a minister, adoption of a Long Range Plan, taking out a loan, etc.
