Family Ministry Events

The Family Ministry Team serves as the umbrella committee for ministry to families with children and for inter-generational programming at UUSS. This includes supporting children’s religious education programming, parenting groups and classes, youth and children’s groups (separate from RE or Sunday School), inter-generational activities, and the integration of children and youth into Sunday mornings. Our Family Ministry Team mission is to promote family-friendly, church community events and support family-friendly programming throughout the year.

This church year we are hosting a family friendly event each month. Upcoming events include: February 7th, we will host dinner and a showing and discussion of the movie Screenagers about growing up in today’s technology-ladened world . Next, on March 29th, we’ll host a family concert after church service. April 12th, we’ll hold our annual Easter Egg Hung and lunch.

Also, join us for a Spiritual Parent course on the afternoon of Sunday, March 15th to help parents and guardians in the our role as the primary religious educator of our children and youth. Family Ministry Team Members Sally Lewis and David Libby will lead this class and provide both lunch and childcare.

And we continue to promote children and youth participation on Sunday mornings, both in Sunday School, but also as part of everything that makes a Sunday morning at UUSS; helping the greeters, staffing the Family Ministry Team table, making coffee, and participating in the service.
