Given the recent announcements by the District Attorney and Attorney General that they are not holding the SacPD officers accountable for Stephon Clark’s death, your support of our Black community is needed now more than ever. Below are upcoming events that we encourage you to attend.
Black Lives Matter (BLM) Sacramento Open Meeting
Saturday, March 16th from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Valley High North Laguna Public Library, 7400 Imagination Parkway. BLM will discuss their hardships, experiences, successes, and future goals. See Facebook event here.
One Year Commemoration March for Stephon Clark
Monday, March 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Begins at the SACRT Light Rail Meadowview Station (3501 Meadowview Rd.) and ends at Meadowview Park (Meadowview Rd. & 24th St.). See Facebook event here.
BLM Sacramento Needs Weekly Support
First BLM stood outside the District Attorney’s office for 49 weeks! She didn’t file charges against the officers responsible for Stephon Clark’s death and tried to vilify Stephon! Now BLM is having BBQ protests at the Sacramento Police Station to put pressure on Chief Hahn to fire the officers.
Can you drive, load/unload heavy items, grocery shop, or clean? Volunteers are needed every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Their BBQ items are stored and cleaned onsite at UUSS, so please lend a hand! Sign up for weekly shifts here.
