Defending Human Reason, Promoting Human Dignity: Let’s Hear it for Humanism!

Rev. Dr. Roger Jones preaching with Rev. Lucy Bunch, Worship Associate Celia Buckley, UUSS choir with Music Director Anthony Tavianini, Pianist Irina Tchantceva

Congregational Meeting Day

Liberty and JusticeReligious Humanism has had a home in Unitarian Universalism since the mid-1800s, affirming that you need not believe in God to be ethical, moral, spiritual, or worthy of respect. At its best, Humanism promotes mutual understanding, community-building, peace, and environmental sustainability. The values of human dignity, reason, freedom, and compassion continue to call us together. They call us forward with courage.

  • Tai Chi/Qi Gong at 9:30 in the Fahs Room.
  • Congregational Meeting right after the service; all are welcome; a quorum of members is needed to vote on the budget, strategic plan, and nominees. (Humanism also affirms the practice of democracy!)
