Meet at 8:45 am at UUSS to carpool to Donner Summit. Bring a lunch and drinking water. This is a moderate out and back mountain hike of 3-4 miles, without too much uphill, BUT you need to be able to hike at an altitude of 7000 feet on uneven terrain. Wear hiking boots (preferred) or athletic shoes with very good tread. Wear warm layers to enjoy the crisp fall mountain air. Why drive so far? Beautiful scenery.
