The Refugee Support Team will hold our annual drive November 26, December 3 & 10 after service. Stop by our table to learn about the work we are doing, participate in the clothing drive for the families we are supporting, donate to our fund to support our work assisting families through the asylum process, and
THANK YOU to the many UUSS members and friends who participated in our Adopt a Family Program. In partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) we welcomed six families (11 adults, 19 children) to our community. We provided each family warm clothing, blankets, kitchen items, toys for the children and Target or WalMart gift cards.
This year we are partnering with International Rescue Committee Sacramento to support six families recently settled in our area as refugees through our Adopt A Family Event. During 2019, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Sacramento resettled nearly 800 refugees from countries such as Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria and other distressed regions of the world. These
