Who are the Community Based Organizations we are supporting?

On the Day of Action we are asking the County Supervisors to allocate ARPA funds to Community Based Organizations that support the unhoused.   Who are these organizations?

Here is list of some of the CBO’s we support:

  • La Familia: Offers multicultural counseling for at-risk youth and their families
  • Mutual assistance network
  • Rose Family Creative Empowerment Center: Reduction of African-American Child Death, Resident Services for residents at low income housing complexes (homelessness prevention)
  • Youth Forward: Addressing childhood trauma, including poverty reduction and housing instability
  • Justice to Jobs: Researches and advocates for reduction in violence to incarcerated people of color and wrongful conviction
  • Loaves and Fishes
  • St. John Shelter for Real Change: (women and children’s shelter)
  • WEAVE: Supportive services for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking (homelessness prevention)
  • My Sister’s House: Serving AAPI women and children impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking
  • Sacramento Self-Help Housing: Assisting unhoused people maintain affordable, safe, and permanent housing by connecting people with landlords for shared housing that they can afford.
  • Sac SOUP: Mutual Aid network providing direct relief to the unhoused
  • Anti-Police Terror Project (APTP)/Mental Health First : Direct mental health services to the unhoused. Limiting the number of 911 calls that comes from people experiencing a mental health crisis)
  • Resources for Independent Living: Seeks to promote the socio-economic independence of persons with disabilities by providing peer-supported, consumer-directed independent living services and advocacy. (homelessness prevention)
  • Sacramento Homeless Organizing Committee:
  • mission is to amplify the voice of the homeless and low income community to accomplish economic and social justice.
  • Sacramento Homeless Union Group Members:
  • CAFFE: Clothing and Food for Everyone
  • SAC Safe Space for Unhomed Youth: Safe space for unhoused yotuh to receive shelter, food, and rest
  • Sac All Children Thrive: Working to reduce all forms of childhood trauma, including poverty reduction and housing insecurity
