Sin, Systemic Racism and the Culture of Whiteness

by Rev. Dr. Roger Jones

Sunday, August 20, 2017

Racial oppression is bigger than any of us. Systemic and structural racism keeps our country from achieving the equity which so many of us have worked and longed to see. Dominant structures even keep progressive organizations from achieving equity. We need to listen to people kept on the margins of the bounty of this nation. Even with feelings of discomfort or confusion, we can bring the gifts of humility, empathy, reason, and courage. We can trust that there is enough to sustain us on the road toward racial equity, survival, and safety for all people.
