From Christopher Nolan’s movie adaptation of The Odyssey, to Charli XCX’s new song “No One Lasts Forever,” pop culture this summer has invited us to grapple with the question of legacy. Where do we find meaning in old stories and present moments that may be lost to time almost as soon as they happen? How do both of these things inform our spirituality in a religious tradition that leaves open the question of what happens after we die?
