No Meeting on November 26

Posted by Roger Olson

Posted on November 12, 2019

Because of holiday activities the UU Book Readers discussion group is taking November off and will not be meeting on its usual date of the last Tuesday of the month.

Rather, we will be meeting on Tuesday, December 3 at 7:00pm and then not again until January 28.

Our next meeting on December 3 will be devoted to proposing and selecting the books to be read and discussed for the next six months. We hope you will come with one or two suggestions of books you recommend. We’ll each make a short pitch for our book(s) and then the group will vote–those six books with the most votes will be selected.

  1. I would like to attend your book group. I have been a Unitarian since the mid-60s, but not near any facilities. I did attend this facility several years ago when I was living in Sacramento.

    • Hi Patricia
We would enjoy having you participate in our book readers group. We meet in the church library at 7pm on the last Tuesday of each month. Our book for January 28 is The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See.
We look forward to seeing you.

  2. What books are you reading

    • Hi Cindy,
We will be meeting on December 3 at 7pm in the church library to select the books to read for the next 6 months. Our group members take turns proposing a book to read, we record all the recommended books on an easel pad and then do a simple voting procedure. The 6 books getting the most votes will constitute our reading list starting in January.

You are welcome to come and join us.

      Roger Olson
