Ministers’ Letter
Our Ministers’ Pledge Message
We find ourselves in deeply troubling times. Our spirits are burdened by so much injustice and intentional cruelty. Hence, the values that call us together are as important as ever. UUSS continues to be a place of hospitality, spiritual nourishment, renewal, creativity, and belonging.
Through the sharing of our talents, resources, and goodwill, we are united in action—in many actions, really—to support vulnerable families and individuals, resist unjust policies, practice compassion, bear witness to human dignity, and celebrate life.
Because UU values are centered in love, the congregation continues to shine as a source of hope, reassurance, care, and purpose. So many new people have come to UUSS for these gifts in the past few years. Others among us are grateful for the support and inspiration of this congregation over many years.
When you show up, lend a hand, lift your voice, offer time, greet another person, and provide a caring presence, you are helping us all to stay centered in love. We are united in action to live out our mission: We come together to deepen our lives and be a force for healing in the world.
By making a yearly financial commitment to UUSS, all of us can ensure the strength and vitality of this congregation. Your generous pledge will sustain the programs provided by our staff members, ministers, and dedicated volunteers. Making a pledge to UUSS is about putting faith in one another as we go forward as a loving, energetic, and committed community. Generous giving sustains our mission.
Every year, we ministers give at least 5% of our gross income to UUSS. We are committed to its mission and values. When we are united as a community, we contribute toward the world that we long for. Thank you for your abundant energy, courage, trust, and love.
We invite you to make the most generous pledge that you can. Please know that your generosity will make a difference. Thank you!
Yours in service,
Rev. Roger & Rev. Lucy
