Our Soul Matters Theme for April is Embracing Possibility

We explore this theme in our Soul Matters small groups, at Theology on Tap, coffee hours, and Religious Education classes. Rev Roger will also preach on this theme on April 19th.

Every month we offer an open session for anyone who wants to explore the theme in the company of other good people. On the second Sunday at 9:30 AM in the Fahs room. Come join us.

This month our Soul Matters small groups will consider some of the following quotes and questions:

I still believe that we can overcome… When our days become dreary with low hovering clouds and our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, we will know that we are living in the creative turmoil of a genuine civilization struggling to be born.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Hope [and possibility] locates itself in the premises that we don’t know what will happen and that in the spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act. When you recognize uncertainty, you recognize that you may be able to influence the outcome.  Rebecca Solnit

I think it is healing behavior, to look at something so broken and see the possibility and wholeness in it. Adrienne Maree Brown

Ask what’s possible, not what’s wrong. Keep asking. Margaret J. Wheatley

Questions to consider:

What is awakening in your life? What in you wants to unfold?  What needs to be “unlocked” in your life so possibility can emerge?

Has your belief in the possibility of a better world grown or shrunk over the past couple of years? What event was a turning point for you?

Feel free to leave a comment or question about this post.
