Our mission statements says that “we come together to deepen our lives and be a force for healing in the world.   Our Soul Matters theme for November is Healing and Rev Lucy will preach on this topic on November 15th.

In our Soul Matters groups this month we will these words from Parker Palmer:

“When the heart is supple, it can be “broken open” into a greater capacity to hold our own and the world’s pain. When we hold our suffering in a way that opens us to greater compassion, heartbreak becomes a source of healing, deepening our empathy for others who suffer and extending our ability to reach out to them.”

We all carry wounds – some big some small.   What wound has been with you the longest? Have you ever swallowed your grief or hidden your pain because others were uncomfortable or unwilling to make room for it? If you could speak to that previous version of yourself who swallowed or hid their pain, what would you say?

We will consider these questions in our groups, and you can consider them on your own.   Your ministers are here to listen if that would be helpful.
