THANK YOU to the many UUSS members and friends who participated in our Adopt a Family Program. In partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) we welcomed six families (11 adults, 19 children) to our community. We provided each family warm clothing, blankets, kitchen items, toys for the children and Target or WalMart gift cards. The families we supported are refugees from Afghanistan and Syria. The families have escaped war and persecution in their home countries and undergone extremely difficult circumstances in order to begin rebuilding their lives in Sacramento.
