CANCELED CAUSE OF THE WEATHER
more info about cancellation here
Greetings, Parkway Stewards and friends,
Our March cleanup on the “UUSS mile” of the American River Parkway will start at 8:45am this coming Saturday, the 11th. Our UU Mile continues to receive wet weather and there have been difficulties getting at some of the accumulated trash in various locations of our assigned mile. We would welcome your help! There’s dicey weather forecast for this Saturday. I will be checking the forecasts to confirm whether we shall go out or postpone our clean-up date.
Please check your emails on Friday to learn whether this weekend’s clean-up has been postponed.
We meet on the second Saturday of every month in the parking lot, next to the levee, at the end of Northrop Avenue, off Howe Avenue, behind Panera Bread. We sign in; trash bags are provided and new folks are oriented. We then spend one hour removing trash from the UU Mile. We meet back next to the levee stairway for a photograph of our crew and the results of our efforts. Afterward, many of us continue the fun at Panera with refreshments and conversation. Remember to wear good shoes, your ARPF Steward shirts if you have one, layered clothes and rain gear, if necessary, bring gloves and water to hydrate, perhaps a “grabber”, and your volunteer spirit… consider masking if you deem it appropriate….(Whew, that’s enough 😊)
