Dear UUSS Parkway Stewards and friends,

Much thanks to our crew who came out to clean up on Saturday, August 9th. We got there early at 7:45 and spent an hour out on the UU Mile with a significant pile of stuffed bags to show for our efforts. As noted last month, we are seeing a pattern of reduced trash because of the absence of the previous encampments along our mile.

Our next UUSS Parkway Stewards’ Saturday cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th beginning at 7:45am. Starting in October, we will revert to our “winter hours” with arrival times each Second Saturday of the month at 8:45am to obtain trash bags and provide orientation to Newcomers and then an hour of clean up between 9 am and 10 am. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW SO THAT YOU DO NOT OVERLOOK THAT THE SECOND SATURDAY IN SEPTEMBER IS OUR NEXT CLEAN UP DAY.

Randall Henry has graciously agreed to take over my duties for the September clean up! Please assist him by making sure you have your grabbers, brought water, are dressed for the weather, and are on time after 7:45 am so you can put in an hour between 8 am and 9 am, get your photo taken, and then go hang out at Panera Bread.
