The original banners were presented to UUSS on October 14, 1984. Responsible artists, designers, and craftspeople were Nancy Clark, Charlotte Dalrymple, Ruth Ellis, Virginia Hanson, Wuu Huan, Karen Hawkins, Jeanne Pinault, Mary Stanton, Dick Tarble, Georgene Tarble, Todd White, and Ted Webb.

Twelve banners were reinstalled in October 2015 following a major building renovation. These banners were selected from the original group with two new added, representing world religions that are also currently practiced in the United States.

Fourteen more banners added in September 2016 completed the set intended to depict a sample of major world faith traditions, plus ten banners representing Unitarian-Universalist principles and values.

2016 Dedication Post

The new Banner Project Team consisted of Meg Burnett, Dick Tarble, and Georgene Tarble with construction assistance from Patricia Pratt and Karen Sparrow. Graphic design by Jim Eastman and printing services by Minuteman Press Midtown Sacramento.
