an interfaith rally on Monday, Aug. 24, 6:30 pm, St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church
7584 Center Parkway, Sacramento 95823
Join us to uplift the experience of community members hurt by ICE/Homeland Security enforcement and protest the acceleration of arrests and abductions. St. Charles Borromeo has many affected parishioners. Speakers will include faith leaders and the district director of Sen. Angelique Ashby’s office.
We will ask California legislators to support AB 2465 to make it hard for companies and their contractors to operate detention centers that separate families, as they will be prohibited from receiving state-funded benefits. We can demonstrate our power as a faith-based organization which values the safety of our neighbors, the dignity of human beings, and the sacredness of every family. As people of conscience and love, we need to proclaim the kind of community we want to see.
