The UUSS volunteers serving in leadership positions wish to keep the congregation updated about current and upcoming conversations. In this message, you will find updates from your Board of Trustees, Program Council, and occasionally Nominating Committee and Endowment Trust.

Congregational MeetingSunday, May 18, immediately following Sunday Service. This is the Big One! You will elect our Congregational leaders, and vote on our annual budget and the updated 5 year Strategic Plan. All are encouraged to attend in person or via Zoom, but only members may vote. If you’re not sure of your membership, please contact the office. Check your email for a packet of relevant documents. You can also access the packet from the UUSS website here.

Strategic Plan Revision: Are you looking ahead? Our 5 year Strategic Plan revisions will be voted on at the upcoming Congregational meeting. They are included in the Congregational Meeting packet on the UUSS website here.

UUSS Justice Survey: On behalf of the UUSS strategic plan, your Justice and Equity Team (JET) is inviting everyone to help us look at how racism, oppression, and white supremacy culture show up in the organization that is UUSS. We are releasing a congregational survey to gather information to help us begin to understand the climate around certain issues related to diversity, welcoming, and belonging. We want to identify the steps we can take to move UUSS further toward being a multicultural, beloved community in which each of us feels valued and respected.

The survey was developed over several months, with more than a few discussions amongst ourselves and included input from our ministers, the People of Color Caucus, the Board of Trustees, and the Program Council, and their comments have been incorporated. The survey was released May 9, with a return/completion date of Sunday, May 25. You can access the survey here.

UUSS Generosity: Well Done! Through our most recent Shared Sunday Offerings in March and April we have contributed $4,380 and $4,358 to our Community Partners, Wellspring Women’s Center and NorCal Resist. These are record high amounts, reflecting record high generosity, at a time when it can really make a difference in the local community!

Pacific Western Region-UUA: You can attend the very first PWR Business Meeting to be held on Thursday, May 29 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The Pacific Western Region (PWR) Board is a new board replacing the previous 4 western districts under a new governance structure. It works closely with UUA field staff who serve congregations in our Region. The meeting will be held via Zoom. Contact  for more information or if you’re willing to attend as a delegate.

How to get in touch with your volunteer leaders:

Your elected Board of Trustees meets monthly. Our next meeting will be Thursday, May 22, 6:30 pm, on Zoom (the May meeting will take place on Zoom only, there will be no in-person gathering in the library). You are welcome to join us by accessing the same Zoom link as the Sunday morning services. The Board’s role is to oversee issues of UUSS finances, facilities, personnel and long-range planning; it makes decisions on policies rather than management decisions.  You can find more information about the board and read the minutes and Treasurer’s report here http://www.uuss.org/ board/ . To contact the Board email

The Program Council meets on Zoom the third Thursday of each month. Persons interested in attending a meeting or contacting the Program Council chair can email .

Feel free to engage any committee member from Nominating Committee. They have yellow name tags. You can always reach them by email at  They have created a great set of posters of the nominees for election at the Congregational Meeting. Take a look in the Welcome Hall before the service!
