Big DOG!  The church is not a participant, but many causes we care about are.  Is yours?

Starting at midnight Monday and going all day Tuesday, May 3, is the third annual Big Day of Giving in the Sacramento region.  Last year Big DOG raised $6,000,000 for many important arts, social service, education, nature preservation, and justice organizations.  While UUSS does not participate, many of our friends and members are active supporters

Supporting the Black Lives Matter Movement Last June, Unitarian Universalist delegates debated and approved an action of witness at the UUA’s 2015 General Assembly.  They urged our 1,000 UU congregations to support the Black Lives Matter movement.  There was some heat as delegates addressed the assembly from PRO and CON microphones.  Young UUs of color

Classical Piano Recital Monday (Apr. 11th), Free at CSUS

Our own Ina Jun is giving a solo piano recital at 8:00 PM Monday, April 11, at CSU-Sacramento, in Capistrano Hall. It’s free! If you’ve heard her play sometimes at church you know how lovely she is as a pianist and as a person. JS Bach, F Chopin and F Schubert are on the program.

Every 2nd Sunday of the month (April 10) we invite you to come up to light a candle in the common bowl before our 10:30 service to mark a joy, milestone, sorrow or prayer.  The lighting will be done in silence and then during the prelude music, and the candle flames will bear witness to our concerns

Chili bar after the service!

Thanks to our church’s Board of Trustees for making various kinds of chili, plus cornbread and fixin’s.  After the April 3 service, come enjoy a meal with others.  Requested donation is $5.
