JoAnn Anglin writes: Monday’s poem is Song, by Eamon Grennan. You can see it at:
https://www.loc.gov/programs/poetry-and-literature/poet-laureate/poet-laureate-projects/poetry-180/all-poems/item/poetry-180-054/song/?loclr=lsp1_rg0001
At UUSS, we members tend to have a range of beliefs, or non beliefs. A recent service highlighted some members who operate within 2 belief structures. In Song, the poet deals with an array of feelings, including, she says, “years from belief.”
This holiday season can raise some discomfort at times, being immersed in both religious and secular aspects of celebration. Most of us negotiate this okay. Let’s consider it on Monday morning.
JoAnn Anglin’s poetry appreciation group Lectio Divina meets 1st and 3rd Mondays at 10:00 a.m. on Zoom at uuss.org/online – the same link we use to enter a Sunday service.
