Join us at 10:00 a.m. for poetry discussion on Zoom at uuss.org/online. JoAnn Anglin writes: the poem I’ve chosen for this coming Monday is Everybody’s Autobiography. You can see it online at https://poets.org/poem/everybodys-autobiography Tracy Smith is a former US Poet Laureate, and she also once lived in Sacramento. I don’t usually include the poet’s statement about what inspired their poem, but thought it relevant here.
About this Poem: “This poem emerged from a dream that challenged me to embrace a wider radius of compassion in my daily living. It has, for me, become a kind of psalm for living in a world at war, and maintaining an investment in the safety and sanctity of strangers.”
