In 1959 Dr. M. L. King made a pilgrimage to India to deepen his understanding of Mohandas K. Gandhi’s principles and was well received by Gandhian activists. Back in the states during his Palm Sunday sermon, Dr. King said: “O God, we call you — Brahma, Allah, Elohim, the Unmoved Mover.” Let us recognize the tradition of interfaith cooperation and recognize it is a key story of our American heritage.
