The fire and passion of romantic love can ignite powerful connections. But it is the quieter emotions–-–-respect, humility, and kindness–-–-which sustain and enhance our commitments. On this Valentine’s Day we explore the ups and downs of long-term relationships and consider how kindness will enrich–-and contempt will destroy–-the love between two people.
