What invariably happens during the first few days of a new year? Stores take inventory of what did and didn’t sell during the holiday season (and begin putting out Valentine’s Day candy), lucky recipients begin using the gifts they acquired (at least the ones that fit or came with batteries), and the thoughtful and earnest folk create (and sometimes just as quickly break) New Year’s Resolutions.
