Hello, music friends,

I'm looking forward to seeing you all this Friday evening at 6:30 pm for music making! We can continue practicing our favorites to play at future community and church events for those of us who are interested -- or come to just play along and enjoy.

Feel free to bring new music that you think may be appropriate for us to play. It's best if the music is kept somewhat easy to play and has the chords annotated. Music with words is a plus! We'd love to hear something special you may be working on with your instrument.

UTunes Instrumental Activity Group is a friendly, music-loving bunch of people — of all ages and musical abilities — usually meeting at UUSS on first and third Fridays from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Please contact Joan Rubenson to be sure of the dates and times.

So far we have folks playing the piano, ukulele, violin, guitar, mandolin, cello, recorder and flute. Our musical selections come from a variety of genres – including folk, swing, jazz, Irish, and popular songs of the 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond.

Some of us are practicing favorite pieces to perform at "Open Mic" gatherings (Shindig @ the Hex!) at UUSS -- and at senior residences. Performances can be whole group or they can be duets, trios or whatever you want to work up with others. We welcome your ideas and suggestions. For more information, please contact Joan Rubenson.
