Welcome to Out and About

Out and About is a group for members and their guests who enjoy sharing outings together such as art exhibits, museums, performances, gardens and nurseries, hiking, biking, wineries, antiquing, restaurants and bird watching. We are limited only by our imaginations.

It works like this: You have an idea for an outing and are willing to lead it. You do the research (dates, transportation, costs, number of people) and send out the pertinent information to the Group Coordinator. The Group Coordinator distributes it via e-mail to the members.   Members who want to participate contact you (the Event Leader) directly to indicate their interest and finalize arrangements with you. At the conclusion of the event, you send a very simple report to the Group Coordinator.  Not everyone needs to be an event leader but your idea of a perfect outing may not come to fruition unless you decide to lead it.

• Don Pasquale opera simulcast followed by Thai dinner
• Second Saturday art 10th & R including bronze pouring, preceded by dinner at Ernesto's
• Ferry boat and train trips to San Francisco for Parts 1 and 2 of The Impressionists exhibit at the DeYoung Museum
• Holiday Open House at member's home
• Master Singers concert followed by dinner at Tres Hermanas
• Train trip to Reno; Audubon exhibit at Nevada Museum of Art
• Sandhill Crane viewing and dinner at Ettore's
• Tour of Crocker Art Museum and lunch at Crocker Cafe
• Tour of Medical History Museum followed by lunch at Evan's
• Tour of Filoli Center in Woodside
• Buttermilk Bend Wildflower Hike
• Feats of Clay - Tour of Gladding McBean Factory in Lincoln and lunch at High Hand Nursery in Loomis
• Tour of the Charles Schulz Museum and the Luther Burbank Gardens in Santa Rosa
• Bat tour - Yolo Basin Foundation
• Lunch at Plates Restaurant
• "Steel Magnolias" at Celebration Arts Theater
• Cosmo Cabaret - Defending the Caveman
• Picnic and concert at Fair Oaks Parks
• Wildflower Hike at Lake Winnemucca
• Train trip to San Francisco for Gertrude Stein exhibit
• Davis Farmers Market
• Day trip to Nevada City
