How to Join a Ministry Circle

Ministry CircleIf you feel you are ready to join a Circle, here's how:

Study the Covenant. It describes how Circle members want to relate to each other. You'll be asked to agree to this by signing the Covenant before joining.

Check the schedule of Circle meetings. See which ones you could attend and select your first, second or more choices as appropriate. We receive new members as openings occur or as we start new groups and honor your first choice of meeting times whenever possible.

If you already know a Circle facilitator or people in a Circle you'd like to join, you can speak to them about how to join their group.

Complete the Ministry Circle application and drop it off at UUSS Office. You can download a copy of the application here or pick up a copy in UUSS office or auditorium.

The Covenant

The members of a Ministry Circle agree to adhere to the following covenant when they join a Circle:

I will attend to my own spiritual life;

I will attend to the spiritual life of the group by helping it be as loving and truthful as I can;

I will play some part in nurturing the spiritual life of the church or larger community through service;

I will hold is strictest confidence any personal information other members share with me;

I will make attendance at group meetings a high priority;

I will welcome new members into the group at appropriate times and I will support the formation of new Ministry Circle groups;

When I feel it is time for me to leave the group, I will attend three final meetings after I have informed the group that I will be leaving.
