The Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) is a 17-year-old non-profit educational and community organization dedicated to “Inspiring people to take responsibility for Earth.”
They develop innovative programs in Portland, Oregon and transports them to communities across North America.Their have been offered in all 50 states and Canada. Total enrollment in the discussion courses exceeds 120,000 known participants, with thousands others taking the courses using recycled course books. The courses have been offered in hundreds of businesses and organizations. NWEI’s work has been featured in two PBS documentaries, Affluenza and Escape from Affluenza, as well as a National Public Radio series, Deep Ecology for the 21st Century.
